Botanical description:
Shrucbs up to 9 meters tall, short stem, and dense, round treetop, Alternate leaves, and elliptic. Large flowers. Its fruit is a capsule with ovoid shape about 3cm long, brown in color, with soft reddish spines. It has several small seeds covered by a red or orange pulp.
 Medicinal Uses:
Seeds are rubbed on the skin to treat pimples and as an insect repellent. The fuit is considered antidysenteric, antipyretic, aphrodisiac, astringent, and diuretic.
Leaves are also used against skin, liver, and digestive diseases, diuretic, anti-inflammatory.
